After some inevitable pandemic-related delays, we're now looking ahead excitedly to Seabourn's launch of two new purpose-built expedition ships in 2022 and 2023.

The delight of travelling with Seabourn is that its fleet of five (soon to be seven) modern, ultra-luxury ships offer consistent styles and standards, so once you know that this is the cruise line for you, you can confidently come back time and again to travel on a wide choice of itineraries around the world.

The new expedition vessels - Seabourn Venture and sister ship Seabourn Pursuit - will feature the latest technology for exceptional stability, safety and comfort in all climates and conditions. You can expect a focus on in-depth exploration and travel experiences which, when combined with Seabourn's unique onboard style and comfort, will create the ultimate adventure holiday.

Let's take a look at the key features of these new builds, which will make them particularly well-suited to itineraries way away from the traditional cruise routes...

Seabourn Venture in Antarctica

A quality viewing experience is integral to any immersive expedition cruise, and Seabourn Venture's expansive observation deck is perfect in any weather, enabling you to use your Seabourn-exclusive Swarovski binoculars to scan the horizon for polar bears, pink dolphins or king penguins, depending on your location.

An open bridge policy (at the Captain's discretion) means you can join the experts to understand the intricacies of ice navigation, or nosing through a narrow channel. When it gets too hot or too cold, you can retire to the comfort of the Bow Lounge with panoramic views and easy access to the bow to take a closer look.

Getting ashore quickly and efficiently by zodiac is key to the enjoyment of any expedition cruise, and Seabourn Venture's Landing Zone will help you do just that. This is a generously sized, highly functional area where you prepare for and return from adventures off the ship.

Two six-person submarines piloted by experienced expedition team submariners can transport you beneath the surface, offering breath taking views of everything from the surreal sub-sea realms beneath Antarctic ice, to plunging underwater cliffs in the Norwegian Fjords, to reef walls teeming with life beneath clear, tropical seas.

Seabourn Venture - Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre acts as the teaching and academic hub, with a focus on natural history and cultural insight. Spacious enough to accommodate all guests at one time, this is the location for lectures, briefings and reviews of the day's activity, and Seabourn's world-class 26-person expedition team, made up of wilderness experts, scientists, historians and naturalists, will be on hand to answer your questions. Huge high-definition screens will provide an immersive audiovisual experience, showing a variety of programming including footage from submarine voyages.

Seabourn Venture - Expedition Lounge

The Expedition Lounge is the heart of the ship, with two 'virtual fireplaces' and modern, nature-inspired furnishings in hues of the earth and sea. Those already familiar with the Seabourn style will appreciate the transition from the stylish classic ships to these state-of-the-art expedition vessels - function and design combine to enhance the perfect balance of luxury and adventure.

There will be 132 guest suites, each with private veranda, built-in heated jacket wardrobe, and a personal suite stewardess to ensure everything in your suite is always as you wish. Suites range upwards from a minimum size of an amazing 355 square feet.
