What we love

Ocean Explorer joined the Quark fleet in 2024 and is a purpose-built expedition vessel designed for polar waters. Built in 2021, it showcases innovative expedition technology including a striking X-Bow design which improves efficiency and guest comfort when sailing in extreme environments. On board, guests will enjoy spacious cabins, almost all with private verandah, multi-height outdoor decks which are perfect for wildlife viewing, and a fleet of 15 Zodiacs for immersive exploration.

Main Dining Room

On Deck 5, this restaurant can seat all guests on board and has a contemporary design. Expansive windows bring light into the room and allow you to enjoy a meal whilst taking in stunning polar landscapes.

Private Dining Room

Set in a separate room adjacent to the Main Dining Room, this private dining venue offers a more intimate ambiance for up to 36 guests featuring the same bright window views.

Bars and lounges

Modern and stylish design punctuates the public areas and you can choose from quiet nooks or social hubs as you relax after a day exploring or share stories with your fellow adventurers.

The Latitude Bar on Deck 5 is a popular meeting place with plush sofas and seats at the modern bar, or for something al fresco, why not head up to the Observation Deck and Solar Bar, perfect for relaxing during the day if conditions allow. For a bright indoor space, the Observation Lounge is a relaxed area for cocktails and conversation, and of course not forgetting the Explorer Lecturer Lounge where your expedition team will brief you and host informative talks.

The largest suite onboard with an impressive 540 square feet of space and comprising two rooms, this suite on deck 7 features an expansive private verandah, a large master bedroom, and comfortable living and dining areas.

Explorer Suite

This unique two-room suite on deck 7 offers from 254 square feet of space, divided into a central bedroom, outer living area and features a bathroom and additional powder room.

Junior Suite

A spacious suite on deck 6 featuring a private verandah and comfortable living area, and easy access to the lounge and dining room.

Royal Veranda Stateroom

The ship's innovative X-Bow design offers a smooth and comfortable sailing experience and together with ample outdoor viewing areas and a schedule of activities ashore, a sailing on Ocean Explorer offers a comprehensive expedition experience.

Four separate sea-level embarkation points and a fleet of 15 Zodiacs means that the expedition team can assist guests with getting on the water as quickly as possible and explore up-close in incredible surroundings. On board, the Explorer Lecture Lounge is the place to be for briefings and informative talks, supported by several large screens, and the high level observation decks offer longer range landscape viewing.
