Before you board
Two nights in Bali
Fly to Bali where you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort for a two-night stay. The resort occupies a beachfront location within the exclusive resort area of Nusa Dua and offers easy access to Bali's tranquil eastern coastline. The following day, transfer to the pier in Benoa to join Le Soléal and begin your voyage.

Dili is the capital of Timor-Leste (East Timor), one of the world’s youngest nations. The city’s old quarter includes a number of impressive buildings from the Portuguese colonial era, while the Resistance Museum documents the country’s 25-year struggle to win independence from Indonesia.

Indonesia: Maumere (Flores)
The island of Flores is home to some of the most staggeringly beautiful scenery in the Indonesian archipelago, a lush landscape of smouldering volcanoes, spectacular lakes and verdant paddy fields. Flores is also culturally distinct from the other islands, with a population that is 95% Catholic.

Indonesia: Sumbawa
Sumbawa is just to the east of Bali and Lombok, though the island is drier, less developed and more conservative than its neighbours. It’s a popular spot for surfers, and home to sleepy villages where locals weave indigo cloth and build traditional wooden boats by hand.

Indonesia: Satonda
The tiny uninhabited island of Satonda was created by a volcanic eruption several million years ago, just off the north coast of Sumbawa. The island is surrounded by coral reefs teeming with colourful tropical fish, and was declared a protected Marine Nature Park in 1999.

Indonesia: Saleh Bay (Sumbawa)
Saleh Bay is a vast expanse of sea on the northern side of Sumbawa island, semi-enclosed and scattered with uninhabited islands. The main attraction here is the marine life, and in particular the chance to see magnificent whale sharks in their natural habitat.

How much time is spent ashore?
Itineraries are planned to deliver an unforgettable experience of the destination, so days are filled with landings ashore via the ship's fleet of Zodiacs (sturdy rubber boats) or exploration along the coastline. It will vary depending on itinerary and operators, so it's best to contact us to discuss but rest assured an expedition cruise is focused on the time you spend off the ship.
