Attempt the Northeast Passage with Hapag-Lloyd

The passage from Europe to Asia through the Arctic - for centuries, an inconceivable notion - remains a great seafaring challenge to this day.

Hapag Lloyd's lovely little expedition ship the Hanseatic was the first non-Russian passenger ship ever to sail through the Northeast Passage, and in August 2016 she will attempt it once again.

On 16th August the Hanseatic will set off from Tromsø, rounding the North Cape and cruising towards the Arctic archipelagos of Novaya Zemlya, Franz Josef Land and Severnaya Zemlya. The planned route then heads along Russia's Siberian coast, and if all goes to plan the ship will cross the International Date Line and arrive in Nome, Alaska on 10th September.

This is a spectacular expedition, shaped by dramatic, bizarre landscapes and encounters with polar bears, seals and whales. If you're interested in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transit the Northeast Passage then give Mundy Adventures a call on 020 7399 7630 or send us a message.
